Summary: This book could be considered both a primary and a secondary source. It is a complete and very well documented account of the history of resistance to slavery in the United States. The author's analysis is insightful and was very helpful in understanding History, Economics and Public Law. However, what was even more useful was the primary source material narrating how big an impact the Haitian Revolution had on the United States in the pre-Civil War period.
