Summary: is a story of man who originally had no idea of establishing schools for Christian Education for the working class. However, he was gradually drawn into the work, and in the process became poor to be of service to those in need, relying only on the providence of God to supply the basic material needs of the brothers and the schools. On May 24, 1900 the Catholic Church recognized the deep holiness of De La Salle when he was declared a saint. On May 15, 1950 the church considered De La Salle as a pioneer in education and made him the church's official patrons of all teachers.
