This CD-ROM discusses some of Earth's natural resources, threats to their existence, and efforts to protect them. Having studied the conservation of natural resources with the help of this program, students will be able to: describe the components and processes of a "living machine" waste-water treatment system and compare and contrast it with a natural system; collect, sort, and analyze information about various natural resources and draw conclusions about the viability of continuing to utilize these resources as we do now; explain the relationship between the science of crossbreeding plants and our ability to overcome the current disadvantages of naturally colored cotton; predict the outcome of uncontrolled population growth; and explain sustainable architecture and describe P.E.T. recycling.
