A Crucible book-- T.p. verso
The book chronicles the life and times of one of Philippine's greatest artists- Cesar Legaspi. Legaspi lived a life of quiet moderation with one ruling passion: painting. As a member of all the important modernist movements in Philippine art, his life reads like a chronicle of those events, culminating in his personal triumph: the National Artist Award for painting in 1990. Written by Legaspi's longtime friend, Alfredo Ding Roces, this book is illustrated with over 200 photos of major paintings, as well as photos from Legaspi's personal collection. Also contains a catalogue of major paintings and a chronology of Legaspi's life.
