The purpose of Philippine Encyclopedia of Social Work is to provide an overview of social work in the Philippines - its history, its concern and interests, the state of the art, the issues and its view of both students of social work and practitioners as well as those in the social development field interested in social work and other human service profession and allied fields. This set contains 81 practical and innovative articles. It is divided into four parts. Volume 1include Part 1 and 2 while volume 2 include Part 3 and 4. Part 1 is the Fields of Practice and Population served and there are 19 articles under this topic. Part 2 is the Social Work Practice and there are 21 article under this framework. Part 3, which consists of 21 articles is on Social issues and Miscellaneous topics. And last but not least, Part 4 contains 17 biographical sketches of outstanding professional social workers who contributed so much to the development of social work profession in the Philippines.
