Subject(s): Summary: This book is intended for the Filipinos who have not visited Northern Luzon and seen and experiences Vigan as one of the few meeting places that still evoke the appearance and atmosphere of days past. The project originated in 1999 in a photographic contest held by the Philippine Photographers Foundation, Inc. assisted by the NCCA and municipal government of Vigan. Under the leadership of Ms. Edi Huang and Mr. Lito Beltran, the contest produced hundreds of masterly photographs that documented every aspect of the city - its well-known buildings and its residents, engaged in their daily lives amid relics of a bygone age. Accompanying the pictures are recollections of Vigan people - Bigueños - that conjure the sights, smells and sounds of the old town.
