Acts as guide in reading the Bible. Consists of commentaries on the books of the Bible presented in the general order traditionally given those books in the first formative millenium of the Christian era. Each commentary is divided into two major parts: "First Reading" and "Second Reading", wherein the first reading is a rapid reading to see the book as a whole and to get the general idea, because that general idea is crucial in grasping the real context and sense of individual verses and chapters. The second reading then will be a slow reading, taking the book a bit at a time to be meditated and savoured by the reader, filling up general insight with the passionate details of poetry, preaching and history in which the writers originally discovered the shattering presence of God in their lives.Contents:General Articles:Insights into the HIstory of Biblical Interpretations,Unleashing the Power of the Bible. How did we get our Bible?,Selected Pastoral concerns,Commentaries:Old Testament,New Testament,Also contains Pastoral Guide for the Use of the Bible in Preaching,Map Index.
