Summary: This collection represents a timeline of the author's intellectual interaction with one of the most enduring political forces in post-war Philippines, the communist movement that was (re)born in the late 1960's. Instead of presenting essays chronologically, It was organized along broad themes to convey to readers those areas in Filipino communism's complex histories that is interested. The collection has many lapses however there are minor corrections in the text, including re-arranging endnotes and fixing misspelling and obvious editorial mistakes. These changes however do not alter the substance and style of each essay as it was written at a specific period. While some conclusions in these essays have become outdated or turned out to be wide off the mark.
