"To regulate and control the design, construction, installation, quality of materials, location, operation, and maintenance or use of mechanical systems, equipment, appliances and appurtenances within the jurisdiction of R.A. 8495 known as the Mechanical Engineering Law". In addition, the Philippine being a recipient of the disastrous effect of climate change, this Code so desires to help migrate carbon emission through the global advances of technology in energy efficiency and renewable energy, the 2010 PSVARE Standard on Energy Efficient Buildings and its future editions will be adopted and shall form part of this Code. There are a total of 29 chapters in this edition to comply with Republic Act No. 8495 specifically Article 1 and Section 35, which shows that we have to take the first step and stand united with our fellow engineers in the mechanical engineering profession. --Back cover of the book
