520 _aThis work on the Philippine President, 100 Years is the contribution of the Philippine Historical Association (PHA) to the celebration of the centennial of the Philippine Independence from Spain. The structure of work follows the usual periodization of the Philippine history from the evolutionary period to the present: the First Republic followed by the American period, the Commonwealth period interrupted by the Japanese Occupation, during which the Second Republic was established, the return/restorian of the Commonwealth, the inauguration of the Third Republic, the imposition of martial rule and inauguration of the Fourth Republic, and finally the EDSA Revolution and the establishment of the Fifth Republic. The numbering of the president has been in the consecutive fashion following the sequence of the period each president served.
