520 _aUrian Anthology provides a comprehensive picture of the local film industry from 1970-1979 by Filipino film critics who are or were part of the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino (MPP). The body of the book is divided into six principal parts. The preliminary section contains the editor's introduction, and Parel's history of the MPP which traces and evaluates the growth of the organization through each year of its existence. Part one provides basic understanding of the present state of the industry. Part two contains Manunuri reviews of the most representative genre films that made up the bulk of Filipino movies in that decade. Part three is made up of Manunuri reviews of those films of the 70's, which the Manunuris, individually or collectively, considered as substantially good and/or technically superior. Part four presents a gallery of selected portraits, of people involved in the industry. The appendices include important MMP records: profile of MPP members
