520 _aOne writes one's story for a reason. I have several. Through my story, I would like to reach out to the young generation of Chinese in the Philippines in particular and to all the young people in general. Life's road is never smooth. Personally, I went through countless hardships and miseries and struggled relentlessly to become what I am now. My success amidst the seemingly insurmountable odds is inspiration enough for the young to keep on, never to give in to hardships, if they want their dreams realized. It is my wish that, through the story of my life, the young will understand life better, thus keeping their hearts open and filled with hope in the midst of difficulties. Thus, is the first reason for my wanting to put my life story into print. --From the preface
