In this revised edition as in the original, the author has attempted to correlate the provisions of the Revised Penal Code to the related principles of law in the field of constitutional law and procedure. The author has preferred to make the decisions speak the correct rule rather than his personal opinion. When dissenting opinions may be expressive of the better rule and therefore merit equal if not more consideration, the author has inserted them after the majority view. In some few provisions, however, which have been construed by authoritative decisions, as well as in the rare cases where there is a need for the expression of an opinion for reconciling apparently conflicting decisions or clarifying the same, the author has set forth his views on the subject. --Preface of the book.
