About the Author Rachel E. Khan is an associate professor of Journalism at the University of the Philippines College of Mass Commnunication, where she served as its chair from 2006-2009. She is concurrently the president of the Asian Congress for Media and Communication, an international organization of mass media and language academe and practitioners. She also served as deputy director of the Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility (CMFR) from 2005-2006. Prior to joining the university, she worked as a reporter for BusinessWorld, a leading business daily. She has a M.S. Journalism from the Columbia University, New York under the Fulbright program, and a B.S. Economics from the University of the Philippines Diliman. As a journalist, she has won several awards including a Jaime V. Ongpin Award for Business Reporting . She is also author of Internet 101 : The News Mass Medium for Filipinos, published by Anvil Publishing.
