Garcia, Jr. is chairperson of the Marketing Management Department of De La Salle University - Manila where he holds the rank of Associate Professor. Included in the 1999-2000 edition of Baron's Who's Who of the Asian Pacific Rim, as well as in the 1996 Marquis' Who's Who in the World, Garcia is one of only three Filipinos conferred with the international title "Certified Professional Marketer - Asia Pacific" by the Asia Pacific Marketing Federation.
